PGR Brothers and Sisters - The family of retired U.S. Army Vietnam veteran Harvey Lee Burns has called upon us to come together and stand for a fallen hero. SFG SGM Burns passed on 6 February 2021.
Harvey Burns served honorably in the U.S. Army, enlisting in October 1973 and served as a Special Forces Green Beret (11G) for 24 years & 10 months. After retirement, SGM Burns taught JROTC and volunteered at the U.S. Army Airborne & Special Operations Museum on Fort Bragg. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam, 1966-1967. He was a Master Paratrooper and was proud of his Thai Master Parachutist Badge. He is survived by three daughters, five grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. This mission consists of two flag lines: (1) prior to the funeral service being conducted at Sullivan’s Funeral Home; (2) graveside at Sandhills Veteran Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC.
Date: 11 February 2021 (Thursday)
Stage & Briefing: 11:00 am. Flag Line #1: 11:30 am. – 12:30 pm. Location: Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Home, 610 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC. Flag Line #2: 2:00 pm. – 2:30 pm. Location: Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd, Spring Lake, NC.
Temperatures are expected to be 50-55 degrees), with a 25% chance of precipitation. Weather permitting, motorcycles are welcome. Flag Line flags will be furnished.
