Rolling Glory 3 (RG3) features a relay of 13 American flags, one for each of the 13 Heroes who valiantly gave their lives during a suicide attack at the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan on August 26, 2021.
This relay began at Roadhouse Biker Church in San Bernadino, California. Hellfighters Christian Ministries sponsored this Memorial Ride to honor those who gave all at Kabul, Afghanistan and all service men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
The Patriot Guard Riders are honored to have been asked to be part of the NC leg of this escort, prior to their transfer to Virginia where they will be placed at Arlington National Cemetery.
We will need 14 bikes to carry the 13 US Flags honoring each of the heroes, plus the “Betsy Ross” Old Glory Flag. No flag mount is required, the flag poles include a mount for mounting on the passenger footrest on Harley or similar bikes or the rear crash bar on a Goldwing. The flag mount may preclude a passenger from riding on some bikes. Only the RG3 flags will be flown on the bike carrying same. All bikes to receive a flag will be identified by the Ride Captain in Charge. All bikes not carrying a RG3 flag may fly flags and banners.
Following the reading of the names on the VNV Memorial, each flag will be transferred, and the name of the Hero’s name associated with that flag will be spoken. Cages are welcome to be part of this escort.
After all flags are securely mounted and completion of the safety brief, we will mount up and proceed to the Rest Area at Exit 364 on Rt 40 at Rt 264. We will refuel and proceed to the final stop at Camp Lejeune, USMC Base.
We will be entering the base and the following rules apply to all those entering:
No Firearms or weapons of any sort.
Long Sleeve Shirts
Full finger gloves
Over the Ankle boots or shoes (NO TENNIS SHOES)
Eye protection (Glasses, googles or a windshield)
We will attend a ceremony as the flags are relocated from the bikes, where they will be displayed for one week.
