ABOUT THE MISSION:
Patriots we have been called to honor a hero Chief Warrant Officer Michael Dorman, who served in the US Coast guard three assignments in Guam, several small boat stations and patrol boats, and his final tour as Operational Training Officer for Director of Auxiliary (ER), Eighth Coast Guard District.
After his military career ended, founded a non-profit organization, Military Missions in Action, devoting his efforts to help Veterans with disabilities achieve independent living, as well as supporting our servicemen and women serving in combat areas and their families.
MMIA has helped countless veterans and their families all over Mike's home state of North Carolina. In 2010 Mike was awarded the Edward M. Kennedy Community Service Award, the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce award and the Distinguished Service Award. In 2013 he was awarded the Fuquay-Varina’s Small Business of the Year award and the American Association for Affirmative Action award. In 2015 Mike was awarded the Triangle Access Assistance Award. Mike was also awarded the highest honor for service to the State of North Carolina, The Order of the Longleaf Pine in 2013 and gained national attention when he was awarded the nation's second highest civilian award, the President’s Citizens Medal, by President Obama in 2013 and the National Daughters of the American Revolution Medal of Honor. in addition to his military awards. As Chief Warrant Officer Dorman stood for us it will be our honor to stand for him.
