The Patriot Guard Riders have the honor of standing a silent flag-line before and during the service of MSG (Retired) Spencer Gay. The funeral service will be at 11:00AM Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at The Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service and Crematory, Fayetteville, NC. Inurnment will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.

MSG Gay proudly served in the 11th Airborne Division and Special Forces. As a Green Beret he spent time in Germany, Korea, and Vietnam, where he earned numerous commendations. His awards include Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal with 6th Award, Vietnam Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Ranger Arc Tab Insignia, Parachutist Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Combat Infantry Badge, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm.
