The family of retired U.S. Army, Vietnam veteran, Angel Macias has requested Patriot Guard Riders’ (PGR) support for their fallen hero. Army Sergeant Major (SGM) Macias (Ret) passed in January 2021, at the age of 80.
SGM Macias served his country honorably within the Special Forces community (Airborne), being most proud that he was one of the original members of the Army’s elite Delta Force. His numerous awards and decorations include the Bronze Star with Valor and the Commendation Medal with Valor. After retirement from active duty, SGM Angel continued working for another 20 years as a Civil Servant, working with the Joint Special Operations Command on Fort Bragg, NC. His passions in retirement were golf, wood working, mosaic design and gardening.
He is survived by five children (one son and four daughters) and seven grandchildren. SGM Macias will be buried with military honors. // Obituary can be viewed at the web page of Rogers & Breece Funeral Home, Fayetteville, NC. //
This mission consists of a funeral home flag line, an escort to the cemetery, and a graveside flag line.
Date: 17 April 2021 (Saturday)
Stage: 9:00 am.
Briefing: 9:15 am.
1st Flag Line: 9:30 am. – 11:00 am. (beginning of Catholic service).
Location: Rogers & Breece Funeral Home, 500 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC.
Escort: Following the Funeral Service we will have escort duty, with LEO support, to Cumberland Memorial Gardens, 4509 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
2nd Flag Line: Immediately upon arrival at Cumberland Memorial Gardens. Upon completion of graveside service, @ 2:00 pm., we will stand down and depart.
Temperatures are expected to be 57-71 degrees. At this time there is no precipitation anticipated until after 5:00 pm. Request motorcycles presence in the escort. Flag line flags and water will be provided.
I am honored to be the POC and RCIC for this mission. Thank you all for everything you do for our fallen heroes and their families.
