Honor Mission
PFC Mose Edward Vance
US Army - WWII
Morrisville, North Carolina - July 12, 2024
About the Mission:
Private First Class Vance entered the U.S. Army from Virginia and served in the 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division. On January 1945, elements of the VI Corps, including the 45th Infantry Division, were defending Alsace and Lorraine in northern France against the German offensive of Operation NORDWIND, an effort to break through American lines in eastern France and eliminate as many Allied units as possible. On January 11, German forces attacked PFC Vance's battalion, which was occupying a defensive position north of the village of Wildenguth. PFC Vance was killed at some point during that day. Private First-Class Mose Edward Vance was Vance was assigned to Company F, 2nd Battalion, 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division in January 1945, during the final days of the war. His division operated in the European Theater. He was awarded the following medals

★ Bronze Star
★ Purple Heart
★ American Campaign Medal
★ Army Presidential Unit Citation
★ Army Good Conduct Meda
★ European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign
As PFC Vance stood for us it will be our honor to stand for him on his final trip home.

Large Bike Flags will not be needed.
Water will be provided.
