ABOUT THE MISSION:
Harold Bierman, Jr. was born in New York City and lived to the ripe age of 96, a true member of the "Greatest Generation." A successful scholar and athlete in life, he also earned a commission to the United States Naval Academy and graduated in 1945. He served his country faithfully and honorably during World War II and then again in the Korean War. Mr. Bierman's professional career was centered at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY where he served for 59 years and earned numerous honors and gratitude from so many of his students and fellow professors.
He is survived by his wife Florence, four sons and eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
