1st. Lt Newton “Bob” Carper served as a Combat Intel Officer, with the 101st Airborne Division. A Vietnam War veteran, he was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal.

Bob retired after 38 years of civil service. He worked as an Information Technology Specialist with Department of the Army, NETCOM, Fort Monroe, VA. Bob was an active member of VFW 6060 in Elizabeth City.

We will Stage and prepare to escort 1st Lt. Carper to his Final Resting Place at the Albert G Horton Jr. Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Va. Ensure you are topped off with fuel and flags are rigged for highway speeds.
We will go KSU when the Funeral Home staff is prepared to leave, appr. 0900.
Upon arrival at the cemetery, we will dismount and join the VaPGR in the Flag Line for 1St Lt Capers internment and the rendering of Military Honors.
