Raymond “Ray” George Freeman, age 78, of Carthage passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 16, 2024, surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 11:00am at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:00 until 11:00. Burial will follow in Candor Cemetery in Candor. Ray was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee on September 14, 1945, to the late Raymond and Viola Mitchell Freeman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Freeman, stepchild, Angela “Sissy” Martatos, grandson, Dylan Sweat. Ray enjoyed riding motorcycles, going fishing with family and especially with his grandkids. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He proudly served his country in the US Army and spent a career as a truck driver and a security officer at National #9. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
