1Lt Newton “Bob” Carper served as a Combat Intel Officer, with the 101st Airborne Division. A Vietnam War veteran, he was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal.
Bob retired after 38 years of civil service. He worked as an Information Technology Specialist with Department of the Army, NETCOM, Fort Monroe, VA. Bob was an active member of VFW 6060 in Elizabeth City.
Stage 1215
Twiford Funeral Home

Elizabeth City, NC 27909
We will stage at the Funeral Home and following the brief we will mount up and proceed to the family residence with the FH Staff. We will escort the Family back to the Funeral Home for a Celebration of Life and a Memorial Ceremony by the VFW 6060 Honor Guard.
1Lt Carper will be laid to rest at a later date at the Albert G Horton Jr. Veteran’s Cemetery in Suffolk Va. We have been asked to escort him when final arrangements have been made.
