David James Fields, 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, October 22, 2023 at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro.
Mr. Fields was born in Johnston County on May 25, 1940 to the late Rufus and Nora Grant Fields. He was a faithful member of Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. After retiring from Burlington Industries with 25 years, he became a poultry farmer and enjoyed being self employed until his final retirement, at which time he enjoyed working around his home, gardening and spending time with his family. Mr. Fields was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He served for four years and received the Good Conduct Medal and Air Force Longevity Service Award.
