ABOUT THE MISSION:
Once again Patriot Guard we have been asked by the family to stand and Honor a true Hero. Mr. Prewitt passed away peacefully at his home at the age 101 years old. Recently back in May 2021 the patriot guard did a drive by at his home to celebrate his for his late Birthday. Mr. Prewitt was a great Hero to our Military and country. His military career included assignments in Virginia, then to Africa and Sicily which he was under General Patton with and was a driver that he transported food, water, and other supplies as needed with the 7th Army. In Italy his detachment was the 5th Army. Going on from there he was again with the 7th Army into France & Germany. When Mr. Prewitt left the military he work in Washington DC with the U.S. Department of Labor for many years. I can go on and on about his life and his career. Back in the Fall of 2019 by decree Mr. Prewitt received the National Order of the Legion of Honor from the French President Consul Vincent Hommeril in January 2020. In October 2020 the Rockingham County Board of Commissioners presented the Long Leaf Pine award to Paul. This Honor was presented and awarded by Governor Roy Cooper. Mr. Prewitt loved life and lived it the the fullest. He leaves behind his long love companion Susie, Paul had one son Paul L. Prewitt Jr. and his wife, his 2 grandsons, 2 grand-daughters-in-law. Mr. Prewitt was a very humble man as well a true gentleman who came into his life and he always had good words to tell people, Live your life to the fullest. He will truly be missed in Eden NC.

At 4:45pm I will have a short briefing, shortly after that we will form a flag line for visitation of the family and many friends that Mr. Prewitt knew. Visitation starts from 5-7 pm. After the visitation we will stand down and depart the area. If any patriot guard members that would like to attend the service on Saturday 9/4/2021 may do so. Please be there at least 20 minutes prior to the start of the Services. Services starts at 11 am at the Fair Funeral Home. There will be no flag line for the services.
NOTE: Mr. Prewitt will be laid to rest in Alexandria VA there will be no escort from NC to VA.
Due to the COVID restrictions in effect, all PGR personnel attending will exercise Self-discipline and practice safe procedures including NO initiation of contact the the family or funeral home staff.
